Laura Lake
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Laura has been involved in the interactive and traditional marketing industry since 1998. She is a well-known marketing consultant, who brings a user-centered perspective to marketing that promotes mutual benefits for both advertisers and consumers. Marketing is her passion.
She got her marketing chops the old fashioned way. She earned them. Through years of experience in the marketing industry, Laura has helped thousands of business owners and marketing professionals with her down-to-earth writing, consulting and lectures. She has written for About.com (a division of the New York Times) since 1997. She was helping companies market online before it was popular. She's been through the boom, the crash and the rebuild of online marketing.
She joined the BIGSHOT team to lead the marketing and business development. Her skills, combined with those of other BIGSHOT team members, have created a powerhouse that can't be stopped.
Laura lives in her waterfront townhome in Overland Park, Kan., with her cat, Martini. When she’s not working, you'll find Laura driving fast in her new BMW Z4 with the top down to relieve stress, strolling through an art gallery, covered in sweat in spinning class, or just sitting on the deck enjoying the view of the lake and a nice glass of wine.
If Laura were a cocktail, the drink she’d be would just depend on the day. If it had been a jam-packed and crazy day, she’d be a Martini that has been stirred, not shaken. If it were a business development day when she was focused and in the zone, she'd be a an exquisite Pinot Grigio served with a nice pasta dish that contains just enough spice to bring out her delicacy, but still allow her to catch the attention of the partaker.
