I had an interesting meeting this morning with a company pitching a great new idea. We were discussing the nuts and bolts of their new and very innovative web system and how it was coming together at just the right time. A time when their clients need more help raising money than they ever have before due to the poor economy. One of the guys mentioned that 35 of the current Fortune 100 companies were started in what was considered a bad or poor economic climate. Why? Poor economies force businesses to get creative. A poor economy coupled with fiscal adversity, forces companies to stretch their best minds to find the next big thing or to advance what they are already working on to the next level. In a poor economy companies are forced to do this as a matter of survival. Great companies have this mindset in all envirionments.

With the click of the “enter” button it's done - that blogger's message of anger with the experience they had with your company is now everywhere to be found. Burned into the indelible memory of Google and Yahoo, that negative remark is the equivalent of the “shot heard 'round the world,” and the thing was, you didn't even see it coming. |

Tone. Your attitude, demeanor, overall tone, this can be the difference in something working or not working. The majority of communication breakdowns often come back to some point of miscommunication that could have most likely been avoided. In a technological world filled with e-mail, text messaging, instant messaging, etc., how do we accurately communicate tone? |

Being a sales professional, I have found that is necessary for me to constantly be looking for ways to improve what I do, and how I can provide the highest level of service and support to my clients.
