A series of McDonald’s restaurants throughout the Kansas City region have recently entered into a 4-year sponsorship with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs sports logo will be advertised and featured on various McDonald’s products and on the radio, television, outdoor ads, and print ads.
The McDonald’s/Chiefs partnership is aimed at targeting dedicated and loyal Chiefs fans with discounted and promotional McDonald’s products. The partnership agreement will include a McDonald’s fries truck that offers free snacks to Chiefs fans during home games, an adult-sized Happy Meal, and free Big Macs when the Chiefs record a sack during games.
Additionally, the partnership will have McDonald’s and the Kansas City Chiefs teaming up for a series of PLAY 60 campaigns and events, in which children are encouraged to be active for 60 minutes per day in the fight against obesity. All McDonald’s food promotions are currently set to run through the end of 2013.
