Want to be a BIGSHOT? Start here!

We love seeing our smallshots grow into BIGSHOTs!

Do you want to work in downtown Kansas City and gain some real world job experience? We will take your innocent, naive, unseasoned self and turn you into a professional, experienced veteran – sort of like what a training montage does for movie protagonists.

An internship at BIGSHOT is basically like college, except without the soul-crushing homework, and it will actually help you get a job. Just ask some of our current employees — one-fourth of all the people who work here started as interns.

Internships at BIGSHOT are unpaid, but they’re also fluid. You can design your internship to work around your schedule. You should also know that we don’t accept interns to fill a vacant seat: If we ask you to join our team, it’s because we see something in you that we like — something we want to foster and grow. You’ll be given real work when you’re here, and when your internship is over, we’ll help ensure that when you leave us, you’ll know exactly what your next steps are.

Content/Copywriting Intern

Content interns will help develop and create website content for BIGSHOT Inbound and BIGSHOT’s clients. This includes writing blogs, newsletters, web page content, and other content as assigned. Being detail-oriented is a must. You must be a strong writer and a conceptual thinker, and possess excellent grammar skills. You must not be afraid of feedback. In fact, we ask that you love feedback, because you’ll be getting a lot of it.

This internship is perfect for college seniors who are preparing for graduation and are looking for real-world agency experience. At BIGSHOT, you will be held to actual deadlines that impact our business. You will be embroiled in the day-to-day operations of the content department. Your work will be challenging. Here, you will learn what writing with efficiency means — and you will learn how to write content that clients want and need.

If you want one of those fluffy internships where you learn how everyone takes their coffee, you won’t be happy here. If you’re ready to work, to write, and to learn, we want you on our team. When applying, please include 2 – 3 writing samples, one of which needs to be a news item, article, press release, or blog.

Graphic design interns will help design and create logos, infographics, ebooks, fliers, and other collateral as needed, all under the guidance of a professional graphic designer. You must be organized and able to meet deadlines, and have experience using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
